OK. I admit it. I must be obsessed. I seem to be continuing to obtain hut coins.

I am not obsessed enough yet to be collecting all the different issues, officina, hut types, tree types, soldier varieties, globe types, spear positions etc. but I don't think that I am far off.

I do have what I believe to be a particularly interesting example in the post but that will have to wait for another day.

The FEL TEMP REPARATIO Hut coins are minted under Constans and Constantine II.

I set my first task as being to try and collect a mint set of Constans which consists of 13 mints (Alexandria, Antioch, Aquileia, Arles, Constantinople, Cyzicus, Heraclea, Lugdunum, Nicomedia, Rome, Siscia, Thessalonica and Trier). I have been collecting Constantius II when or if I see them but they will be next with these consisting of 11 of the 13 mints used by Constans with Antioch and Lugdunum not being used for Constantine II.

I have completed the Constans mint set for now though I will probably look for upgrades for one or two over time and fill in varianys if I find coins that match my limited budgets.

Here are my Constans coins. My search will now focus on Constantine II.

    Congratulations!

You are a man obsessed! I'm glad about that because I usually learn something from your posts, although a side effect is that they cause me to start wanting some of the same. Not in such great depth, but a hut coin is definitely on the shopping list :).

@maridvnvm : Awesome collection. I have nary a one. Between your Papi's and Hut's (and your other GREAT coins), you really cover all the variations!!! Way cool. I have Papis because I like collecting the Republic. But, LOL, you are FORCING me to get a Hut... just to say "I GOTS it!" Well done!

Wow, Martin those are awesome => but hey, I'm far more impressed that you were able to post 18 photos in one post!!

If you're uploading pictures from your computer the max per post is 10. I'm not sure what the limit is when the image is posted elsewhere and you are just adding the image URL (which is what Martin did).

congrats Martin. I have an example not listed in RIC from Alexandria.

    Constantius II
    A.D. 348- 350
    20mm 4.6gm
DN CONSTAN-TIVS P F AVG; laurel- rosette diadem, draped, cuirassed, globe in hand.
FEL TEMP REPARATIO; Soldier leading a small figure from a hut beneath a tree; ✶ in left field.
    In ex. ALEA
    RIC VIII Alexandria –

RIC only lists pearl-diademed for Constantius II for the ✶issue

the Hut FTR coins were likely issued to commemorate the A.D. 342 resettlement of the Frankish people within the Roman Empire, on the left bank of the Rhine River, mainly in Toxandria.

I'm not Martin, but the only mint listed in RIC with Γ in the field is Constantinople.

And just for the record. I have been informed by Doug that I mistyped above. Constantine II should of course read Constantius II. Doh.

Nice coins. An affordable specialty like this is smart.

    Greg,
I wasn't actively collecting these and bought one because it was offered as part of a deal with a coin I wanted. I became curious about them and they make a relatively inexpensive side collection (like I need another!) especially when the majority of coins from my other speciality collections seem to be drifting outside my budget.
    Regards,
    Martin

could it be unofficial Victor....the lettering appears a little odd and the engraving a little primitive??

It looks official to me, the weak strike makes it look a bit off near the bottom, but the portrait is fine compared to other Constantinople issues.
