I clicked on Silver Searcher's user profile and "ignored" his posts. Now I don't see them. If his posts are in anyway untoward, ignore them. Hyper discussion of youtube posts only serves as a form of "click bait" for otherwise disinterested people to go look up his youtube nonsense. You can act as your own moderator and leave Doug and Jim out of having to act on your behalf.
@desertgem I know who this guy is. He has very interesting metal detecting videos. And he's not 12 years old. You can see his face and he shows his finds. Just look for JD's Variety Channel I don't feel like he has any bad intentions with his Silver Searcher CRH videos. I have followed him for some time and he is ok with me.
Did you have to click on either to see the video? If so, let me know, if not then it is not a violation. Irritating to some, but ignore takes care of that for the most part.
No - but you have to watch ads (one from TIDE Detergent) before the video plays. And other advertising is on the videos also. But nobody has a gun to my head making me watch it - I guess "Ignore" is the best option
Rooman, my favorite and well used add-on! I agree! No, before someone asks, it will not remove or block mods comments
It would be nice if he included some pictures... Honestly, it feels like all he's using this forum (and the coin community forum) is for advertising.
Best thing to do is ignore him, his amateurish videos and his YouTube garbage. He'll eventually get bored and move on.
Hey mods, can we just give this guy his own separate forum, because he has effectively taken over the CRH forum with his incessant video posts. I gave him a fair shake at first but it is blatantly obvious that he uses this site solely for advertising his YouTube channel, and has made NO other contributions. Many upstanding members of this site who have been here much longer than myself and have frequented this forum for years feel exactly the same way. I will not stoop to bullying or harassing anyone, but I too feel that his use of this site is abusive. I understand your hands may be tied on this particular case, but I hope you at least further consider many members irritation over this matter. I have no issues with any member, but he doesn't respond to serious inquiries in his threads, and now seems to be taking satisfaction out of the annoyance he is becoming.
Seems to me aside from using this forum for free advertising he's becoming quite the troll. According to @desertgem that isn't allowed here - or maybe that was just for me - LOL!
Hey here's the solution: Each and every member here put him on ignore. That blocks out his threads from sight. Let him post his videos into the ozone to his heart's content. I'm finished worrying about it. I might handle it differently if I was the moderator in charge, but since I'm not, I'm going to leave it with them and check out some coins on the site.
But you can still see him posting his crap and wasting good space on the "Recent Topics" list just to send CT members to his YouTube videos that have advertisements on them that pay him PLUS his "Business Email " is there also - BUT Jim says all this is OK! Just don't anybody else think about using CT as a springboard to making money on Youtube.
Markus, Jim said it was OK to post as long as it was within the rules, and if it goes beyond that, the mods will intervene. Again, as myself and others have said, don't click on it if you don't like it ( Most realize what is there) and you do not want to see it. What is so hard about that? What is "crap" to some is treasure to others. There are several threads here I don't read unless there is a report, and there are other areas I read every thread, so ignore those you don't like.
Markus, you are the one who brings up my name in posts first, not me. I don't tag and follow you around. But if you want to continue to try and get me to respond in a likewise manner, you will be waiting a long time.
Honestly, I feel like we're being flooded by the posts... Of the last 14 new threads on here, half of them are his... While I like the enthusiasm, I have to admit I'm becoming somewhat skeptical.
I don't even see his posts. Deployed the good ole ignore button. Don't see, don't hear, and don't care about the varmint.
Is CT such an obsession that members have to open and read every thread and post. I mean I read a ton of stuff on here but only if it seems to be of interest. I don't open or play a 1/3 of the videos posted here mostly because I have different taste in music than some. This reminds of my kids when they were younger saying stuff like I can't stand this song, or show, or whatever but keep right on listening because they can't turn it off. My son complains I can't stand to listen to this guy announce the game but want turn it down and keeps complaining. Hit the ignore button, or better yet just skip over his post it's not like you have to watch it in order to see the next one. Why do we have get moderators involved to do what we could ourselves. Ignore it.
