Hello all, My name is Frosty and I am new to CoinTalk. Several years ago I purchased a few 1999P proof Susan B Anthony's. After glassing them, one was found to be a triple die error. Does anyone out there have knowledge of another SBA 1999P proof error like this? 008-1.jpg 004.jpg 008-1.jpg 004.jpg 007-1.jpg 008-1.jpg 004.jpg 007-1.jpg

Looks like a loose die if it’s proof. I’m a trool. Trust looks interesting

Thanks for the input Cheech9712. I'm new to this communicating about my collection, what exactly is a "trool"?

    It's nothing.

You see what looks like doubling, I assume. I don't know if there are any known DDOs for this date.

That's all machine/mechanical doubling (MD) and adds no value. The die is coming loose from the holder and moves minutely as the die is coming up off the planchet. It happens in microseconds. They are fairly common, but not on proofs. There are no splits on the serifs or letter tips. Wexler, the variety/error gguru considers this "worthless doubling". Here's a link, but look at the reference links at the bottom and left of the text:

Also, there's no such thing as a triple die error.
If it were hub doubling it would be called a Doubled Die Variety or Tripled Die Variety.

Hub doubling fall under the Variety category which is different from the mint error category.

Great info! I started collecting when I was little. I've been out of the game for a long time due to military and job, always loved collecting but never found time for it. I have a lot to catch up on and this platform is perfect for it!! Thanks again!
