LordM Giveaway #113 (pick your prize)

    Contest status: CLOSED
    Drawing: (@PlanoSteve won)
    Shipped 6 July 2024
    Winner's receipt

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the latest giveaway. This will be another one of my "pick your prize" contests, so you can hopefully win something you'll like.

    To enter:

Select a prize of your choice from my Giveaway Gallery, and post an entry post stating your prize preference, plus a short word or two about why you chose what you did. As I periodically add new items to the Giveaway Gallery, you may always change your mind later if you win the drawing. I just like to hear people's selections up front, since it gives me an idea of what's popular.

Click the pic to go to the gallery.

The drawing will be done via random number generator sometime on or after the date mentioned at the top of this post. The timing will depend on my schedule. You may consider the contest open for entries until such time as I have posted the final result of the random drawing.

Totally free: the contest is free of charge, open to everyone, with free worldwide shipping. The only requirement is that if you win...

Please post a receipt in this thread after you get the prize, so we'll know you got it (that helps me keep track).

    Good luck!

    Numismatic regards,

    ~Robertson ("Rob") Shinnick ("LordM")

I still can't decide if I like the Judean bronze prutah, or the Spanish half-real more. Either way, thanks for another amazing giveaway @lordmarcovan!

    OK I'm in for the
Mexico: 2015 silver Onza. Why? Because I like the design.

Entry Post: Rob, I would definitely select the judaea bronze, as it would fill several voids in my "Box of 3,000+" (First graded ancient, earliest date, first bronze).

I love your kitten. It is a coincidence that you posted a picture of a kitten. I have 3 dogs and had only 1 cat. About 4 days ago, we were driving home and we say a kitten in the middle of the road in front of the ongoing traffic. I thought it was dead, but my wife said we had to stop and check it out. I fish-tailed my car in front of on coming traffic to block them from running over the kitten. When I got to the kitten, I was blocking both lanes with about 5 cars. Thankfully, no one blew their horn. I did get a few kudos. The kitten didn't weigh more than a couple pounds and both eyes were closed. We took her directly to the Vet. He said that the kitten was anemic, but OK, except her eyes weren't open. He gave her some medicine and put some drops in her eyes. Went back to the Vet the next day. The Vet said the kitten was lucky. Most people would drive around it. So far, we are out about $150 for special food and eye drops. She's about 4 days old, but healthy. We blocked the front porch and block her. Her eyes are partially open and she is running all over the place.
Sorry for the break. We named her Penny. We now have 3 dogs and 2 cats. The back yard is fenced in and the front porch is blocked so Penny won't run out.

Yay! Tip o’ the hat! And YOU get an extra entry in the drawing for that. (This post will count as that, when the drawing rolls around.)

Our Penny is also a rescue, and is handicapped: she has cerebellar hypoplasia, or “wobbly cat syndrome”. Her brother from the same litter didn’t survive. Due to the defect, she can’t walk a straight line and falls down constantly. We actually had some folks see her wobbling and staggering around our front yard recently, and they stopped their car to tell us they thought our cat had been hit by a car! Nope. Born that way. Doesn’t really slow her down when she gets excited. She doesn’t know she’s handicapped. You should see her try to chase a bird. It’s hilarious.

Here are some of her baby pictures from 3-1/2 years ago.

You know, “Penny” is a popular cat name with coin people. (Hmmm… wonder why? LOL). Our Penny above is actually Penny II. (We had an earlier calico named Penny for fourteen years.)

Charmy Harker, the well-known “Penny Lady”, also has a cat named Penny.

Thank You again. Maybe someday I'll win the
Bolivia (Spanish Colonial, Potosí): silver 1-real, "cob" type, no date (circa early 1700s)

    I can barely post my
"Little Feller" here, gone a couple years now but I get so sad when I see his pics in my folders. His name is Stewie.

I'll see him at the Rainbow Bridge along with others.

Aww, Stevie. He’s got good company, up there with many of my furry friends on the other side of that Rainbow Bridge.

    Thank you!

I'd like the "Hungary: 1550-KB silver denar of Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor". Partly because I don't have anything from that time period, and also because I have ancestors from Hungary.

Side note, my sister had a cat named Penny when we were growing up. But it was not named for the coin... rather it was named for Pennsylvania, because we nearly moved there, and my sister was disappointed that we did not.
