It's been a month and no one has come up with an 1816. What a shame. Just as this thread was getting to some nice coinage.

1816. I don't have an American coin dated 1815. The choices are kind of limited.

Here is a fantasy DC edition.
If this one doesn't fit please play another 1815.

I agree...1815 quarters and halfs are not all that common. Not the coins you go to for a type set for sure. At least not me.

I say move on to 1814.

These 1814 cents have a bit of a history. As a collector, who sells a coin now and then, you let go of a piece you regret selling. This 1814 cent is one of them.

I sold this piece because it flunked at the grading services and came back in a body bag. In those days you got nothing for your money if the grading services didn't grade it.

It's replacement in my type set was this coin, which not nearly as nice. It has some scratches in the fields, but NGC gave it a straight grade.

Good to see this up and running. Kind of surprised that more
forum members don't participate. I looked back in the thread
and a lone nickel was posted. My trusty Red Book, 1985 edition
shows cents, dimes, quarters and halves being minted. Is there
no one on this forum that has one or two of those coins with that
date and could post them? The more variety per date the better.

For 1814 here is an 1814 Dime, (Variety JR-5 - StatesOFAmerica), and an 1814 Bust half, Variety A over E.

I know I had an 1812 half, too, but can’t find any pix of it. :(

Edit: aha. Here’s one. Not the one I had in mind, but it’ll do. (I vaguely recall having had a nicer one at some time.)

Believe it or not, this 1809 half cent is in the EAC grade of MS-60. If a coin like this were slab graded MS-60, at the MS-60 price, I'd buy a roll of them! Bought this at an EAC convention auction some years ago.

I don't want to be too big of pig, but we getting into my area. This 1808 quarter eagle is one of the two big stoppers in completing an early gold type set. The mintage was 2,710, and it is a one year type coin. PCGS "Coin Facts" has an estimate of 132 survivors in all grades.

John Reich made the dies for this piece. In case you are wondering, he did put a notch on the 13th star, which was his "signature" for gold and silver coins.

This 1808 is not a US coin, but it was legal tender in the United States at that time.
