Number checks. Certainly is boldface type on the label. 1879 S, though, is quite common in that grade

My gut doesn't feel right about the look of the font on the label, but wait for others' opinions before trusting my oft-wrong gut.

    Does the seller seem reputable?

If it came off like I was disrespecting your answer, that certainly isn't the case!! Your answer is definitely within the bounds of "others' opinions" that the OP should consider. :)

Oh no. I was commenting about the sudden disappearance of the coin. The font on the label did seem a bit out of the ordinary.

Dang, I didn't even notice that! The lack of a picture certainly makes it harder to evaluate.

Was it a PCGS or NGC slab? There is a variety of NGC slab that had the entire lettering on a very bold font. It is quite rare. It was only used for walk through submissions one year at the annual silver dollar round table show.

It was a PCGS. If I recall correctly it was one of the ones with the Series number on the holder and the barcode on the back.
