True dat, but I'm not sure any of us have appeared on any government issued coins (but maybe government printed wanted posters, but that's a rather different type of accomplishment), whether by birth or otherwise so it is something.
It is pretty common for royals to be depicted on coins, and the Grand Duke is the head of state after all. These days being the king, prince, grand duke, etc. in a democratic country is basically a representative "job" without much political power of course, but you can still find them on coinage regardless of individual achievements. I think his claim to fame is the great distance at which he inherited his title of Grand Duke of Luxembourg -- 17th cousin once removed!. He picked the wrong side of the Austria vs. Prussia fight and lost the Nassau throne in 1866.
