Do you find this toning distracting and what would you pay for it?

It's mine but can't seem to get anyone to show any interest. Maybe I bought it too high or maybe people just aren't interested in the toning??

I love it. Now that you have shown your cards and let us know there is no interest in it... how much? haha

I like it.. Not distracting at all. In fact, if you put it on a turn table and took a drop of the opposite of alkali, you may experience a good time. :)

I had better experiences with mushrooms and a wavy shower curtain. Or was that a dream? Or is this a dream?

It's all a dream, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain........

    Here's a good question...

What VAM is that coin? "One Dollar" is doubled and there is the die crack from the top of the N in United through the tip of the wing to the top of States?

The toning is nice and definitely worthy of a modest premium. You really want toning on the obverse for there to be a decent premium associated with it. The coin has great eye appeal, however, and it is an O/CC. :)

I can't really tell exactly, but I think I can rule out VAM 11 and VAM 12. You might have VAM 8a, but I'd need a better image of the mint mark to tell.

I'm almost certain it's the 8a as the clashing is not visible on the obverse and the reverse has just the light clashing from the hair vee. Also the rust spots match for the VAM-8 series as well as the die cracks.

I like the color as well. Premium worthy toning plus it's a VAM-8 equals double bonus points in my opinion. Nice pick!

Nice looking coin. 64 sounds about right.

The die crack into the hair is a "smoking gun" pickup for VAM-8.

I'm guessing this isn't currently on Ebay, right? I was unable to find it by searching for O/CC in 1900. Are grade, TPG, VAM and toning mentioned in the title? Is the reverse the lead image? Is your price realistic? And keep in mind there's more than one PCGS MS64 O/CC currently listed - the audience for a ~$900 coin might be a bit diluted.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

The toning appears attractive, and OMMs are usually desirable.

If there is no interest in it at the price you are asking, perhaps your price is too high.

You may also be using the wrong venue to sell. I don't know where you are advertising it, but trying to sell an expensive coin on CT is probably not going to be your best bet. Offer it to specialist dealers, or put it in a well known auction.

I added a few pennies more for the reverse color. Of course it'd be ideal if that purple/blue were on the front, but alas, ''tis not. I paid the going rate for the coin and would be ok to get what I have in it since I know this coin is worth it.

With this particular coin should I resubmit so the VAM is listed? I know some people want it listed on the slab. Also, I recall ANACS being the Morgan specialists right now BUT their slabs seem to fetch much lower prices. Why is that?

That's because people consider PCGS and NGC to grade more consistently and "accurately." Don't quote me as fact, but it's my opinion that many of those people lack the ability to grade accurately without a slab to tell them.

The reverse toning is gorgeous! The scratches on the obverse are too distracting for me. Overall a nice coin!

I'm not a fan of toning, but the coin looks okay to me. In other words, I don't think the toning is distracting.

I'm asking too much then. If I ask what I pay on top of the fees then I end up in the negative.

I attempted to add in a bit for the color to break even after fees but it's not working. I paid $950 (ebay) which makes the coin really an $850 ish coin.

That's the major problem I have with toning -- figuring out what might be a reasonable premium. From what I see on auctions, sometimes it's a shot in the dark.

If the reverse were a neon rainbow of bright yellows, oranges, greens it could add hundreds if not thousands.

This purple/blue isn't as popular as it once was since the crazy colors have emerged.
