WTG! Pretty durn early for a circulation find. Nice grade, too. On the rare occasions when I've found 1920s Wheaties in change, they were purty near slick.
That's awesome yes there are still gems in the fields my friend's that's why I pick up cases from the bank sort then return... Sent from my C6740N using Tapatalk
True, they can still be found in circulation not just from banks. While back got a 45 wheat in change. Only way I discovered it was when I dropped it on the floor and saw the wheat ears. Sent from my A463BG using Tapatalk
When I first saw it I thought, bet it's from the 1950s. When I saw the 1927 it reminded me of my early collecting in the early 60s. It would have looked good in my Blue Whitman....I'll probably put it back into circulation for another collector to find and maybe use in their collection.
The other day at the local grocery store, the clerk was counting out my change and got that WTH look on his face. He almost handed me a 1904 V nickel. He wouldn't give it to me. In the charity box on the counter there was a handful of buffalo nickels. I reckon the previous clerk must have noticed them and threw them in there - readable dates too.
I received this 1912 penny from a change machine at the local Safeway grocery store in 2010. Where had it been for 98 years?
