I just aquired this note still waiting on its delivery to examine in hand.... It's signed 25 states not names or sir names. Which is one reason that It interest me. I also noticed a correction ...probably black ink over black ink...however following are several states names that look to have been penned by the same hand. 1944 literacy rate is probably to blame for that...? 5 out of 25 couldn't sign....? Lastly on the reverse the final states of 25 I believe that to be a platoon size ? ...group..? And what looks to be the list of travel by cities looks to be in the Ardennes regions ? Perhaps Michael or Brandon could assist? I've never have traveled to Europe my knowledge of this area is limited. As I am trying to link it to the Battle of the bulge...to the note. I've have seen as well handled a few short snorters in my time...never seen one listing 'states' that makes me believe that the 25 states are actually the platoon in body. Which may have been on a mission that was so secret that real names were ommited....? IDK just speculations... your opinion is appreciated. Until recieved these are the best images.
That's a cool note. I can only read Bremerhaven, Germany. Google maps puts it as a port on the North Sea. It's way north of the Netherlands. Perhaps a port to sail home from.
