This country needs a lot of things, but considering how "popular" the last two renditions of the dollar coin were, I think a $5 coin would fly about as high as an anvil for circulation. Maybe a special proof issue for collectors would be popular.
Very nice Mr. Green, use to get 20 and send 10 in PCGS and put to 70's on Ebay. now i just get eight, can't compete with the big boys. so for my set i bought a PCGS first strike, special label for $64.95 with shipping mine cost about $55ea.
Brothers.....raw is where it's at. OGP....... Nothing rarer than that........especially when all you folks are sending them in to be graded. Give me a nice, comely OGP........
I like my silver eagle proofs in OGP too, Ken. I got the reverse proofs slabbed because it was the only way I could find them.
I agree with that for most coins unless rare or of higher value... there's a reason why they put it in there
I also got one already slabbed. And a raw one too. What's not to like? Beautifully minted, one-year-only edge lettering, and low mintage (probably under 500,000 which is low for a recent ASE Proof). BTW, the edge lettering is more clearly visible in the slab. Whereas, the side of the raw ASE plastic capsule distorts the edge lettering.
I like mine in a Dansco Album, I know a few of the members think I'm crazy for doing it, and they my be right.
