    Technical name is reposse coins.

    That really isn't correct though because reposse is the creation of a three dimensional image in metal buy hammering it into a mold or die from the back. In the case of these coins it is a single pressing of a shaped punch into the correspondingly shaped die. It is really more like embossing than reposse.
