Actually the coin I mentioned previously, I found 2 1939's with the reverse of 1938.
Still cool, just didn't remember which reverse it was. Looked at them last night.
I had never even heard of such a thing either but I did some research and as for the 1939 of course most of them had the reverse of 1939 but some had the older reverse and some had the reverse they would use the next year. They have slightly different markers to tell you what to look for. Of course the best 1939 is the double die reverse, and then the 1939D and 1939S which are semi key dates for that set.

The R.S. Yeoman Red Book is a great book to help you. You’ll learn a lot and I think you’ll find some fascinating facts in there. It’s a large variety of coins out there and it may help you to decide what area you want to focus and build a collection on.
It’s your collection so you can add anything you want to it. We might tell you the coin is damaged but if you like it, keep it. It’s your collection!
Also, the Red Book has prices but you must remember that those prices are just a guide. It contains mintage numbers and the lower the number the higher the value of the coin. Of course all coins also depend on condition.
