Japan's gorgeous Meiji Dragon Yens never fail to mesmerize me.

The gold yens are even more alluring - until one looks at the price tag... :wideyed:

Maybe I'm a cheap date 'cause my favorite is the Morgan Dollar. It's Lady Liberty was modeled for by a Philadelphia schoolteacher, personally selected by Morgan himself. I like his taste in women. It's eagle is my second favorite topped only by Mercanti's eagle on the American Eagle bullion coins. It has a very interesting history as well. And, of course, my collection is dominated by Morgans, I study them. I invite any of you who know interesting little-known facts or anecdotes about Morgans to post them.

If the choice is among all coins of any time in the world, I think that there isn't other like this, not only for design, but for its significance, the symbol of ancient Greeek democracy

For US coins, my choice is Buffalo nickel.

Of all the coins I actually own, the owl is my favorite. But I would love to be able to afford a decadrachm of Syracuse.

Well I closed my eyes and picked the SG $20 (after changing my initial vote for the SLQ) just for the sake of casting a vote but to be honest with myself I like the design of the SLQ and the WLHD just as much. In addition to those three coins I would have to add the 1926-1939 Oregon Trail Memorial Commemorative to my list. That does it for me as far as my favorite designs. However, as I stated, for the sake of this exercise I cast my vote for the SG $20.

Right now my favorite is the 1915 Pan Pacific 50c coin...prior, it was the 50$ round issue, I,ll probably change my mind again soon.

I'm very unfamiliar with ancients but i appreciate examples like yours where the coin really resembles a mini sculpture. We saw this effect more in our older US coinage but hardly so anymore

This is how I deal with liking all the early 20th century designs. This now sets on my desk so I can see them all the time. It's a 1917 year set. Both my parents were born in 1917.

I voted for the SLQ. This one has a purple cast from light toning.

I think it may have been undergraded by my LCS. It said AU and was $9 or $10 (I got one for my mother at the same time, so I think this was the $10 one). I have it written down as AU, but it has never been to a TPG.

I will try to get better pictures later. The obverse is taken out of the holder, the reverse is through the holder. It is blast white, and there is a little loss of detail, but I can't tell if it is wear or just the strike. It is also FB.
