I will likely never be able to afford the original 1831 William IIII Crown (100 mintage) GB 1836 Retro Crown William IIII.jpg so this will have to do. LOL

That is an incredible medal. I love how it bridges art deco and art nouveau so skillfully. Did you perhaps buy this on eBay (I think I located the auction). If so, it's well worth the price you paid. :) I'd love to have one of these in my collection, and I'm normally not much of a medal collector.

I just acquired this Italian 10 centesimi. It's a circulating commemorative from 1911, issued for the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Kingdom of Italy. Quite a nice little piece, and it only cost me US$4.25:

Yep on eBay, and I like it for the same reasons you pointed out, and also because of the extremely high relief. These come up for sale from time to time. A friend of mine has this medal in silver, and I always liked it a lot, despite it being a bit outside of my main collection.

The artist created a similar medal at the end of the war that is a much darker piece, but along the same vein as this one. I haven't seen that one come up for sale, but I would love to have an example as well.

I'm normally not the biggest fan of reverse proof (though this one says MS... hmmm?), but this is done well. I like it. Definitely a cut above the usual Tuvalu gimmick coin.

I agree. It was made by the Perth mint, so that may be why it's a bit better haha.

Well yesterday was my Birthday and this is one of the gifts I received. I really like it except now I will have to find the original 2009 150th Anniversary to compliment it. Maybe get the CN Crown and a stamp to go along with it.

Also got a gift card to Texas Roadhouse. Awesome food and service. I never go back to the Outback again. Got a 1937 Mexico 5 Centavos also. Haven't taken pics yet. It looks like it was polished, so shiny and gold. Well the heart was in the right place.

That Florin is a real beauty. Do you have any others or PLs? I love those early Franz Joseph types.

This would probably be the nicest early Austrian coin I own. I have a few really nice more modern (still silver) coins, including one that's the PCGS example for the type. But this one is definitely a beauty!

Here is my long awaited newp. [IMG]

    Here is the cert page.

    Here is the seller page.

Here is an interesting (and seemingly independent) blog post about this very coin.

I ended up getting it for $336.45, so saved almost sixty bucks off the ask price.

I think this thing provides a ton of bang for the buck, comparatively speaking.

Look closely at her necklace. That pretty much sums up my feeling about this piece.

I parted with some of my better love tokens to buy this, but don't think I'll regret that.

Beautiful coin, @lordmarcovan. I'll follow one Atlas Numismatics purchase with another:

I am so excited about this one. It's my first truly rare coin. This is one of only 20 pieces minted by The Imperial Metals Ltd. of Birmingham for inclusion in a small number of sets to mark the end of Sterling coinage in Ireland and the introduction of the Decimal currency. For some reason the rest of the coins for those sets were never struck (presumably), and these 20 pennies were put on a shelf and forgotten about.

Recently, these have surfaced (along with numerous other coins from the King's Norton Mint collection), and several have sold at auction. The majority of the others I've seen have uneven toning and are unattractive. This one is a beauty, however.

The asking price was quite dear, but the time to buy a coin like this is when you see it.

This one cost a little more than I like to pay, but I love the design and the mintage is 2,000 so I had to do it. 1995 Aruba 25 florins, for my turtle collection. 1995 aruba 25 florin.jpg

How about this one? It comes from one of the sets you mentioned.
Not graded. Do you think it's worth removing from the set?
