This coin sold on September 1st for $616. It is now listed again for sale with an account that has zero feedback and using the same photos as the previous listing from another seller.

I wouldn't buy it even with the Ebay guarantee!

Is eBay now allowing zero feedback sellers (or new sellers in general) to immediately access funds? If not, the only real potential risk I can think of, IF indeed a sham offering, is the seller trying to convince the buyer to use an alternative payment method. Am I missing something?

I'm nearly certain it is a scam. All 5 of their listings were previously sold within the last month with one being as recent as September 25th. All of them are using the original seller's photos.

Yea who knows what this sellers end game is in order to get the funds. Either alternative payment or lie to the buyer and try to prolong things until funds hold period ends. Who knows. Maybe the scammer is an idiot that isn't aware of the funds hold lol.

I don't know why anyone would buy a coin like that from a first-time seller. The risk to reward is completely against the buyer.

As a new seller(non-coin) on eBay myself, it is possible to link a new account to an existing account. I don't exactly know what all that entails. I do know by linking a new account to an existing account, that will allow you to increase your listing/selling limits. I send them an email everyday trying to get my new account, 10 listing or $1000.00, limit raised.

As far as funds go, I have had access to my funds in as little as 10 days from purchase. Yet, I still have funds pending right now 14 days after purchase. He may be using the coin and sham buyers to open new accounts to get his limits raised. Or he may have some bad marks on another account and is trying to boost his account. I would say he has shill buyers and multiple accounts. He probably would sell the coin to an actual buyer.

Isn't this coin PCGS graded with a Green Bean? Raul, am I missing something? Although I just got back from an Ohio State victory!!

Typical troll practice. This seller is not real, and does not have the coins listed. And Ebay's reporting procedure doesn't have the flexibility to point this out to them.

It's not that the coin is fake or bad in any way; it's that the seller likely doesn't have possession of it.

Exactly. All the coins this seller has listed were purchased within a month. One was purchased less than a week ago lol. And now they are all listed again as auction with the same photos used by the different original sellers. Scam all the way.

Does he think he is really gonna get away with it?
Especially on Ebay where they step in and give you your money back? Unless this dude has figured something out to get around Ebay policies!!

He thinks he's going to get away with it. :)

We discuss "what were they thinking?" all the time here abut stupid bidders buying plain fakes and overgraded coins, but they've no monopoly on stupidity. Plenty of it left for scammers.

Of course, it takes nothing but a little typing to throw up a dozen user accounts with faked auctions, and if even one of them slips through the cracks you get paid.

I took the wife and kiddos (6 & 8) to the BGSU game last month. And I have tickets to see... that team up north... in November. I can't wait for that one!
