Hello everyone, On Tuesday this week, had to make a stop at the bank, after my transaction I asked the girl if she had any Half dollars. She told me a man came in last week with a box of Kennedy Halves that he kept in his vault for 15 years and wanted to turn them in. Goodness, I have never thought about buying a box because of the expense but yup I sure did. Went through them and found lots of silver and toned coins, for me this was so much fun I have never done this before, so I began to weigh them once I separated them by dates. I found this crazy looks like a 1977 Kennedy Half but in bad shape, not only bad shape but the WEIGHT! I weighed this coin about 5-6 times and it always came up 9.0 grams. So my question is anyone have an idea if this is a clad something or another? Would appreciate info. Thank you
Not sure about posting all of the other finds, I was lucky to find lot's of 1964's, Benjamin, walking liberties. Hopefully someday I will be able to afford another box, think I have the bug, this was fun!
LOL! It was great timing to hear a man who owned his own business dropped off a box of Kennedy halves at the bank which he kept in his vault for 15 years, just couldn't pass it up. Don't think this opportunity would ever happen again.
Or find another case. Glad for you. Lots of misses and a few hits. I once found a full of silver quarters minus 1 65. Talk about splitting a gut. Best ever
