The 64' Rosie came from a famous for me coin star. Thinkins and the 74' from pocket change. And the 54' came from a highly unusual place the Chinese takeout. My kiddo went, and said I heard it when it fell into my hands. He goes I knew there was silver.
Training him right @Pickin and Grinin. I know the vast majority here can tell when that 'clink' sound of silver hits our hand, counter, or register till. Nice to know some of the young'ens of today recognize that sound. BTW, 1956 not '54
The Kiddo got a job today, it was meant for him 16 going on 25. Paulie got a job at Pauly's Italian Bistro. Sad cause I just lost for the time being my best hand. On the other Hand, he took a job that he can depend on, I commend that.
Nice! At least it wasn't at one of those crappy fast food joints. Also, Italian food sounds good right about now....
That MA quarter appears to be the work of our mysterious Quarter Master. But what's the THINKINS riddle on the counterstamp mean? Hmm.
How do you get some of these Quarter Master quarters? I've never heard of it until I read some posts about them on here. I think they're interesting and would like to have some but I don't know where to go.
It so happens that he periodically sends me some to redistribute (even though he covers his tracks well and to this day, I do not know who he is). Just message me your address and I’ll send you some. As to how people get on his mailing list, well, that is a mystery for the ages. A number of us on CoinTalk (myself included) have ended up receiving his mailings (which on rare occasions have included $50 or $100 bills!) So he’s not only mysterious and a tad eccentric, but generous as well.
