Hello, I found this 1964 1c. The obverse seems to be in good condition but the reverse is smooth around the rim. The lip of the rim is gone although there appears to be some left. The center of the reverse is in good shape. I also thought possibly dryer damage. Could any one help explain which one this is and why?

This coin did not leave the mint like that. It’s been damaged and is only worth one cent. Welcome to CT.

Looks like it may have once been the center of an aluminum lucky token. They press the cents into those things. Although they don't usually look that bad. Perhaps it got damaged when it was forced out of the holder.

Honestly? It has all the hallmarks of a dryer coin…imo…Spark

Looks like just plain old Post Mint Damage. "That's all I got to say about that!"

All you need to know is that it is definitely post mint damage. Sometimes the answer to how can't be given. It's just and altered surface.

In your thread title.. What does STG and DAS stand for? o_O

Could be a dryer but I am thinking that it was a palm sander.

Probably a victim of a 'washer'...but perhaps a dryer. It's one or the other.
