Bahri Mamluk Gold Dinar of Baybars:

 

@Croatian Coin Collector , could you tell us more about this dinar? What do the lines of script (?) actually say?

 

The only things I am sure about is that the lion/panther on the obverse is the heraldic symbol of Baybars, that this gold dinar was minted in Alexandria and that it weighs 6,59 grams, but I have sent a message to a friend of mine who is fluent in Arabic, asking him to translate what is says on the coin, I will quote your message again and give you his answer when he replies to me.

This is what my friend wrote (first he wrote what it says on the reverse):

Then he wrote what it says on the obverse:

• al-Salih
• al-Sultan al-malik
• al Zahir Ruken al-Dunia wa al-Din
• Baybars qasim amir al-mu’minin

He also wrote that on the left of the obverse it says "Muhamad rasool allah".

Dutch Republic, province of Holland, 14 Gulden or gold rider ("gouden rijder"), 1763. Diameter just over 25 mm, weight just under 10 grams at .917 fine. I'll take it out of the holder soon for more precise measurements and better pictures.
