Morgan proof copies?

    Are these coins even 90% silver? I saw one go for 75 bucks yesterday, what is the deal with these? Are they plated or genuine silver? The seller didn't have the decency to mention it was a replica. I was shocked at what this thing hammered at. :eek:

    Where's the pics? I see many fake Morgans on eBay. I look but never buy online any longer.

    We can't tell you anything without pictures or links to Ebay offerings. I don't click on many links because of problems with malware. I've spent a fortune getting off of my computers through the years.

    Didn't save the photos. It's gone now. This wasn't a fake. It was clearly stamped "copy" on the reverse. The seller just didn't bother to mention it in the description. I just wonder how many novices bid on it not realizing it, and I also wonder if it was 90% silver or just silver plated?

    From what I've seen of some fakes, they were only plated and not very well.

    Here's a fake Proof ASE. The plating was disappearing when I saw it seven years ago..
