dennis5151 Ole Grim and I are on first name basis.

This is on evilbay for $125

What is it worth to an error collector?

    Here is a cool picture.

Note the selled did not get it graded as an error coin. He or she should have.

That's because it's probably just extreme die deterioration. Not really considered an error.
    IMHO

Not worth sending it in for attribution. That's a separate fee besides grading.

The type of doubling you see is nothing more than from an extremely worn die. You see this on a number of zinc cents but it’s doubled, all by a worn out die.

I want to say it's just the strike, it's not a die error. I want to say were it a die error you'd find that all over the coin. This looks like more than a smear, however, it looks like a hop, even a couple hops. Jury is hung in this mind. I can't say for sure what I think that is.

But strike abnormalities can occur anywhere, even on the portrait. To wit, check out this freaky one. This is a jolt...

Mint sure if I have a triple or not. I know I have several doubles. I do have a triple clipped half dollar. Your triple is nice.

The lead-off coin seems to have a case of machine doubling (push doubling subtype). It can generate multiple "shelves" along the edge of the definitive design.
