What do you think of the idea of VaultBoxVI? One of my favorite youtube coin channels (and one of the only ones, actually) covered this. I agree with him, although I had never heard of this before he mentioned it. If you want real comedy, there's at least two VaultBox 6 unboxings on youtube, including a member of Storage Wars, who got really excited over losing about $350 after purchasing his box. The other guy took less of a bath. Pretending losing money was no object, the contents of Rene's box would please me more than the "sol-ooo-dus" guy's box. Also, does anyone else find the 'black core' slabs to look less bad than the red core ones?
I think that it's about as good an idea as buying scratch off lottery tickets. If you don't mind losing the money and derive enough entertainment from opening the box, then go for it! But, the company that puts these things together has built a profit into the system for themselves (not to mention covering their costs), therefore, you are guaranteed to lose money in the long run.
I gotta dash to work, no time to look, but you gotta do a Coinbox 6 unboxing search. Well worth the search.
I'm not into American coins, but were the previous ones more worthwhile? I concur with the opinion, by the way.
Yes, two of my 2024 buys, a Nicephorus III nomsima and Magnus Maximus siliqua, respectively almost equals the VB 6 price. However, those buys have given me an immense amount of enjoyment.
We've gone back and forth on this ATS, there's one idjit who keeps posting about VB. To me it is clearly an illegal lottery, but nobody has yet taken them to court on it. They have lawyers and the number of victims in each individual jurisdiction is small. But judge for yourself - the definition of a lottery is 12 USC § 1463(e)(3)
I guess I'd be excited if I received a JC Aureus or a Justinian II solidus, but as a collector with 30+ years of experience, I know better than to gamble with $649. Instead, one should make a carefully crafted buy.
Lol! I wouldn't have been that unhappy with the coins themselves, but at that price, I wouldn't have been a happy camper. Rene, Whoopie! Me as I'm unboxing, "@#@#@!" Dave Hester: For that pile of crap? H*** no! Drop it on 'em! Nooope!
Im in doubt between hilarious or scam. Good video by the way, in the op. Obviously lots of people think they have a guarantee on the jackpot. Does anyone know the business behind this, or the people behind it, and their affiliation with the ancient coin market? Is it heritage or ngc?
