Never met an injun I didn't like..... Those are notoriously difficult to grade from photos because they are incuse and tend to hide the wear. Not much easier to grade in hand either.

There is certainly numismatic value over and above the gold value which is about $263.00 as I type this. Gold has been moving a lot recently.

There isn't a huge difference in value between the lightly circulated and low uncirculated grades and recent auction figures are all over the place. I believe this would be valued between $400.00-$450.00 currently.

I can't grade these for squat, and I really can't grade them from photos, but it certainly doesn't look any lower than high AU to me. May be MS, may be cleaned, I can't tell from photos.

I thought at first that there was some whitish gunk in some of the recesses, but I think that's just a different-colored light source off to one side.

Gold quarter-eagles are ALWAYS worth more than just gold value. (Please don't try to prove me wrong by pounding one between two rocks.)

Thank you for the reply! As for the whitish gunk it is just from some side light I had on the coin to get better pictures! I definitely will not be pounding it between two rocks lol

It looks to be somewhere in the AU-50 to 55 range. It appears that there is a friction in the fields which precludes Mint State.

Here is an AU-55 (my grade) that has been sitting in my raw set for a number of years.

If you want to see a couple of graded pieces here they are.

This one is an MS-64. The 1908 quarter eagle slab grades tend to be conservative because the graders can't seem to get it through their heads that the 1908 coins always lack the feather detail at the top of the eagle's wing.

    This one is graded MS-65.

I agree it’s definitely hard to tell, and the grade is subjective to whoever looks at it lol, the pictures I posted that look like they have scratches was an error on my part as I took picture with it in a plastic capsule that had scratches on the outside, in hand out of the capsule even magnified, it’s hard to see scratches on it, I’m mean I’m sure there are some but not nearly as many as some of the pictures indicate.
