Planchet Error? What caused this?

    Looks like some kind of worn die issue.
    Die Deterioration.

    It has a bevel around the edge that isn't supposed to be there.

    I see what you mean but the best I can do is the planchet had a defect and/or the die that strict it needs to be replaced/repaired.

    That's how it was struck by the collar die, it's just an imperfection, slight one at that.
