    Take a look at the second 'N' in "Quadricentennial."

    Thanks for the reply. Just looked interesting under the scope. For that reason alone I'll probably be keeping it.

    I think it is more of a Struck Through Debris issue. Just a minor abnormality. IMO.

    Thanks for the reply. Not trying to waste anyone's time. I don't think I have a clear understanding of what a true die error is.

    I think I acquired this coin from a fellow CT member that posted it with questions. I really like the aged damage and toning and think it is unique. I have a small collection of what i call Altered Abe's .

    So far my discoveries appear to be routine machine doubling, discoloration from being buried, grease/debris strike-throughs and damage from rolling around in a clothes dryer. (Still trying to work out the physics on that last one.) Thanks again.

    Yep. Just a part of the hobby. This is a hobby, correct, LOL.
