Morgan Silver Dollar-Double Headed Description by seller. Double sided 1895 Morgan Silver Dollar. Both sides are pictured. I think it is not real. Looks good and has weight. Auctioned at $35. (not me!) Good price for jokes and coin flip bets at bars?
It's not a bad fake. But the 1895 screams fake, even if not doubled obverse. Oddly it supposedly weighs the right weight.
If one is good enough to change the face of a coin, I believe they would be good enough to alter the weight, just a thought.
It takes a lot of know how and expense to do that. Doesn't seem like a profitable counterfeiting scheme, especially with a key date, anyone buying that is probably too clueless to even understand that. So in that event, not going to sell for a premium anyway. The double sided obverse is just a little over the top.
If people would only put their talent into things they were more productive than what they are producing, or should I say destroying.
This is what my wife says about scammers of all types, and she's not wrong. It takes brains and energy to rip people off, why waste talent on something so vulgar?

I think of a magician's coin as one where someone combined faces from two different genuine coins. I sure hope no one machined away the reverses of two nice 1895 Morgans, no matter their mints. On second thought, sure, let's say this is what happened to two of the legendary 1895-P business strikes...
