There IS a key difference between optical magnification (good) and digital magnification (not good). Digital mag just makes big pixels and is NOT helpful.

Totally agree but you have to go with what you got to work with. And these tech geniuses are making the cameras better every day for the smart phones. So maybe there some kind I hope.:snaphappy::snaphappy::blackalien:

I'm sorry to report that waiting for ANY camera phone to able to do this without an additional hardware accessory is a fool's errand. It's not going to happen. It's physics, optics to be precise. A closeup done optically MUST involve moving a lens much farther from an imaging chip than can be done properly in any phone that anyone will carry. It MUST be done with more hardware. One such is linked to below:

Don't expect "tech wizards" to fix this in phones. They cannot repeal physics.

Just making conversation wasn't too long ago they said we never Go to the moon. There are still people to believe it was all a fake. My point is there is all kinds of technology that we the people are just not ready for. It trickles out slowly. Most of us can remember when the cell phone came out as a brick, it what they like to call it. And just prior to that they introduced us to the car phone.I know exactly where you're coming from. And if I owned a smart phone and used it to take photos your link would be very helpful. I'm still having difficulties with this old flip phone camera. Tried it once when I got it five years ago, never tried it again.:blackalien:

I used a phone with flash. Zoomed at 2x.

    Depends.

Let's talk about what you have. Is it "rare?" Probably less than a hundred were struck until the dies became unclogged and made "normal" coins again. So yes, it is rare. Does that make it valuable? Not really; yet it is interesting. I'll bet many of the roll hunters who pursue the hobby of "micro numismatics" are probably jealous and wish they owned it! Should you spend $10-$30 + postage to have it slabbed?
If you have money to burn, yes. A TPGS slab is not going to add any additional value to the coin which (while interesting) is not worth much. However, in a slab, you may be able to "milk" some sucker into buying it for many times than it is "worth" to more advanced collectors.

Remember, no one can tell another collector what to collect or what something is "worth." Too many variables; yet they can offer advice. If you wish to have a slab with a minor mint error that you found and can show off...go for it. ;)

Thank you for your advice. Probably one of the best responses I have gotten on the forum.
