1960 quater sticky

    This quarter is in wicked good condition other than that sticky gold stuff on the back there's a very small amount on the quarter I don't know what to do

    Going to be the same process as has been mentioned in the other 4 threads. You need to give the coins a good soak and see what happens to the sticky stuff.

    My rule of thumb is to go from least/no impact to strongest solvents. I read here somewhere that Dawn could adversely affect copper coins and suggested Ivory soap. But, I would use distilled water first and if that doesn't work, use acetone.

    One thing I learned: don't underestimate the value of distilled water. It may take longer, but it really works better than folks might think.
