1919 Mercury dime CO PY edition

I was one of the last ones to leave the coin club meeting tonight and one of the guys found a 1919 mercury dime in a 2x2 holder on a chair.
Pretty sure it was found on Duane's chair so I'll return it next meeting.
In the meantime I'll have a little fun with it.
Anyone ever seen one quite like this CO PY edition?

W H A T ? Why would someone want that much for a copy of a dime that's not worth much?

 

Interesting that COPY is in relief, rather than incuse. That means you could just grind it off! (And then you'd have a damaged crude fake.)

Is it even metal? It kinda has that plastic-play-money look...

 

Under 10x magnification it does look like a metal of sorts.
Doesn't stick to a magnet.
I didn't take it out of the 2x2 because it isn't mine.
I googled the images and searched for another one but didn't find anything.

 

I like that the designer's initials look like a Space Invader.

 

Tell Duane to cinch them staples........
