Certainly isn’t anything I need… Local auction that hammers tomorrow. Nobody has bid on this late 18th century token and I thought I might see if I could sneak in a ten dollar eleventh hour bid for something that I know absolutely nothing about…. But it intrigues me….. Anyone have a clue with 18th century tokens?

Interesting fellow, I'd add it to my collection.

Condor was who catalogued all the late 18th century privately struck UK pieces, right?

Correct. What's especially nice is that it is an actual trade token and not one of the many that were created for collectors. Yes, there were collectors back then as well. Did you get it? If you got it and do not want to keep it let me know.

I'll know later today when the hammer drops.

I checked out some past auctions and it looks like F-VF pieces sell for $15-20.
