Some people do take a look and are interested but don't comment or post a like. Take this post for instance, it has been viewed 306 times by interested parties. But, that is not apparent just looking at the post itself.
Wow! It's not even in an NGC holder! That means it can't be used in the "most prestigious registry. It's up to $3,300 bid plus the buyers' fee, and it's still get a day to go. I'm happy with this humble MS-66, for which I paid too much at the time, $25.
Cross overs in the same grade to PCGS are tough, especially with modern coins. PCGS is acknowledged as the tougher grader in that area of the market. If you pay close to $4,000 for this piece, you could have a $35 slabbed coin when you are done with no hope of ever recovering. If you want a modern coin in a high grade PCGS holder, you buy it in a PCGS holder.
The only 1943 cent I’ve bought in the past 20 years was an off center. Way too many pleasing coins are available, and I much prefer other coins.
It's all about the competition for some people, and having the top score in the registry. If that's what floats their boat, more power to them. It's not for me.
I strongly agree with EF45 as a collection. Just fill the holes. I’m a small time collector. EF 45 might be my best coin. I feel my collecting is no different
Hey I’m a troll. Show me your most exciting coin. And I’ll be happy to view. I’ve seen you around. Who forgets a polar bear
Yea, it's copper with zinc coating LOL. Here's "a web" where some steel cents came from. I think I bought this a show in New Jersey back in the '70s.
I'm not trying to make this about me. Just a general point that people get coins to impress others but at the end of the day does it matter what they think? The ones I'm proudest of are the ones where I got a great deal because of my knowledge. The guy who buys the coin in the original post is just showing everyone that he has a lot of money he's willing to spend on a questionable purchase.
I’ll tell you this. I roll search. I wish I could show a coin everyday. It’s all of us. Can’t wait to show off something. We’re all watching. Like I said. Who forgets a polar beer
I'm extensively acquiring 1/10,1/4,1/2 oz. Gold Eagles in PF/PR/MS69 "top-tier TPG" certified condition! The only difference I've determined when acquiring the PF/PR/MS70 is a horrific premium increase! JMHO
