On the way home from work this afternoon stopped at a very small branch of one of my bank's in a small town to ask for coin. Got skunked on the $17 worth of halves. Would only sell me half the box of BWR nickels since they were low. So $50 worth. Get home, cook dinner, clean garage, play with cats and dog. Forget about nickels until this evening. Should have thought the better of putting unwrapping them since when I finally got around to dumping them out of my bag I saw this peaking at me: Which was just a temptation I could no longer resist, so I succumbed to the notion of ripping open the roll right there and thence: Six of them from 1901-1911 in one roll. There were 24 more rolls to go through which produced a total of 56 of the little darlings dated from 1891-1912-D. Now I am going to have to go find $50 more BWR to replace the ones they still have at the bank, of course they will get a very very nice treat also.
How close to a full set did you get? I'm assuming there's no 1885, 1886, or 1912-S, otherwise you'd have mentioned them.
hey, he could probally tade those v nickels from some war nickels, or mabye even a silver half with a couple nickels left over =)
I came across a 1900 V nickel in one of my last rolls, but 56 is really something. I did get a full roll of IHC in my last search of wheat rolls though.

These came out of a box at a small branch of my bank in a small town. There were 25 more rolls in the box that the teller had to hold in reserve - so today I got another sealed box and hoped to switch them out like I have dozens of times before. Unfortunately the teller I got these from yesterday was not there today and her manager was somewhat upset that the teller sold "so many" rolls of nickels. I tried to explain that the box I brought in was in exchange so they would not go low. She wouldn't have it. All this after turning over the box of candy. Some people just need to keep the broom crammed.
