You don't know how good you have it here in the US. When I reported for duty in Yokosuka, Japan when I was 18 years old, I had a $50.00 bill in my pocket. Back then in the late 80's in Japan, McDonald's was very expensive. Even on base. To get full at McDonald's, at that time in Japan, you could easily spend around $25.00 USD a meal. After the meal and a haircut on base, I didn't have too much money left over.
As an entry level job that is ridiculous. Soon enough it will be all automated. And a couple of managers to watch over the machines. Absolute stupidity.
Seems like that's what the labor market is dictating. "Ridiculous" is when a teacher or a care provider earns less than a burger-slinger. IMHO. And, of course, when a "celebrity" or "CxO" earns a thousand times as much as all three put together.
