Unfortunately, you are right about the prices, which is why I don't think it is very likely that I will manage to add them to my collection.
I love this 1488 Brabant AV Demi Noble/ its 14.5K EUROS= 21K CANADIAN At least if you wanted it your cost would be so much better.
Baldwin's Islamic Coin Auction is about 3 weeks away, so the lots that will be on offer should be viewable online soon.
One of the goals I have set for myself in regards to gold coins is to have at least 1 gold coin from every century from the 4th century BCE to the 21st century CE, so far I have gold coins from 13 of those 25 centuries.
That is the only goal that I have done. I have EL/AV from 27 centuries. I also have complete gold type coins from 14 nations. The impossible ones even for Elon Musk/ Jeff Bezos.... German States (would take trillions to complete) Mughal Empire (1000/ 500/200/100 Mohurs impossible)
I am having trouble finding suitable gold coins from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd centuries BCE and the 3rd century CE to add to my wish list.
There is one coin/ very affordable from 42BC. Struck by Scythian King for Brutus I got this one FDC for 1600e.
Do you think that this coin is genuine?: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1758419210...HT3J8S&hash=item28f0fec7f4:g:nDsAAOSwwG1kx8Yt
This is an interesting 3rd century BCE gold coin from the Roman Republic: https://baldwins.co/en-GB/auction#/...ion_uuid=2b0b57ae-4001-4abd-a8ca-11bc5aeb4592 Too bad it costs so much.
FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!! number 1 dealer is from Kazacshstan! 1/ size is 20mm. not 28mm, wrong legend! I have this coin already from CNG
I thought so too, but I still wanted to doublecheck it with the forum's main gold coin expert to be sure, besides, even if it was real, I still wouldn't buy it because it has some strange spots/stains in several places.
If I can find a nice one for a reasonable price, I will add a Kushan Empire gold coin from the 3rd century to my collection.
