This unusual specimen is an Abe Lincoln 1927, but with a soft yellow appearance. What do y'all think

Not even a clue what you are asking. The fotos are blurry and not useful.

Are you asking if a low karat (or even gilt washed or plated) token can be yellowish, sure. Depends on what the gold (if any) was alloyed with.

I think nobody would feel comfortable giving any information based on these hazy photos. Also, we would need weights and measurements...

Some more hazy photos. These are the measurements, weighs about a gram.

Are you asking because you're the owner or want to buy it? If you want to buy it, I strongly suggest pass.

IF those percentages are accurate (and I have no reason to believe they are), it's scrap gold (83% or not quite 20kt). At current gold price ($1,310/oz) it's worth under $30/gram

Burton, is there something that you really want to say too me? Sorry to rain on your parade, but it's an NGC worthy collector's coin. The fact that it's AU content just makes the value go up. I was asking about karat amounts gold coins in general (e.g. this only being one example)

You're sounding a bit too defensive. You actually haven't asked a single question yet except "what do ya'll think" and we both answered what we think... Maybe you could ask a better/clearer question?

Also, I would love to know what you meant by "NGC worthy collector's coin"?

I think he's saying that NCG has certified one (https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/1972202-001/) but it's not listed in Coin Explorer, so it's hard to tell.

I was able to find a census page: https://www.ngccoin.com/census/us-tokens-and-medals/elder-delorey-tokens/173/

If you are an ANA member, you can read the DeLorey article from the 1980 Numismatist: https://reader.exacteditions.com/issues/43961/page/18. This looks like Lincoln Token #48:

But 18kt gold is 0.75 fine not 0.83 and I don't see that Elder ever worked in 20kt gold, so it's likely gold plated brass and a crude copy at that.

It means that other coins like it, have been graded by NGC. Making it worthy to be slabbed, for being collectible. I asked my question, about other karat amount coins.

Actually it be much simpler than that; you're exploiting me, while giving positive feedback.

Just because NGC has slabbed a coin doesn't necessarily mean it's a "worthy collector's coin" I believe that to be all based on perception. If you think it's worthy, and you want to pay, than it is.

How is the man who did all that research exploiting you?
