You are putting in a lot of time to go through your friends collection. Kudos to you. Any idea what they are going to do with the collection? I think you get them "hooked" on collection easy enough. LOL

Well, as I keep looking through them, some are nice. I do not mind going through them. Honestly they do not want to keep them. I’m not sure they would collect but hey their father did. So maybe so lol!
Good to see you on my friend!:)

Took me 30 years to collect 1200+ gold coins. They span 2700 years. Have at least 4 or more coins from every century. 700-600BC worst (4)
    1800-99 best (240)
This EL (electrum) Trite (1/3 Stater) is my oldest 650-25BC
electrum was natural alloy found along Patroclus River/ Ionia
(Eastern Turkey) usual 50 gold/ 50 silver composition.
This coin/ few known is undesribed in literature/ basically nobody know where it was struck/ what the symbols mean?
I was always intrigued why the Confederate States of America never struck gold coinage/ just paper currency. 808c2e9b9b7f6838e33f52a5448b067a (5).jpg

Wonderful collection. I for sure do not know on that last one. Are you able to scan with your phone. Sometimes you can pull the image and search.

There are several Spanish gold coins that I like, but unfortunately I can't find them in good condition, in some cases even at all, such as for example this escudo of Carlos V:
