Good morning, Pam. A quick check at NGC World Catalog reveals this is a KM-7. Mint mark of A = Berlin. Known as a German Empire coin. If you assign this very well preserved coin AU58 the listings come up for it to be worth approx. $100-108…imo…Spark
Thank you! These are another friend’s coins. The foreign ones I’m going through now. I really have to divide by country. Overwhelming lol. I thought I was taking a break but I want to do this for them. They do not want them. US ones They will get to me soon. I do have a thread of “friend’s foreigns” but I think I should have put thread here! Thank you very much!
@Rheingold makes a good point, it does look harshly cleaned and at 1.1 million minted a common acquisition, he has expertise on these. What this means to you and your friends is it will impact the sale price you or they will realize if you are honest and sell to a knowledgable collector. Edited to add: While I think it is worth better than melt it will depend on buyer interest. @PamR
Thanks.. and as some know here, I would never. Appreciate it. Apparently I was reported etc. It’s not like I said extra extra read all about it lol. Anyway just pulling coins out as is. They may have cleaned etc. I’m not touching any of it just photos as is. I do or would look up individually and there is an area on CT but with info on it and examine it carefully. Thanks for y’all help!
Coin cataloging can be quite tedious. Here is a site that may help you identify and value some of the more common coins you have at hand. I commend you for helping a friend with such a task. https://worldcoingallery.com/
