Feeling sick right now.

    My wife and I are between homes right now and everything we own was in a new storage place and only in there three weeks. Today we discovered it had been ransacked and my entire coin collection was taken and millions of foreign currency. My faith in humanity has taken a drastic downward turn.

    If this did happen to you, my sympathies. With that said, why was the collection not with you, or why did you not choose a guarded security facility such as westie?

    If it happened? Of course it happened! Com on man! We are at my uncles house with only one room. Can't put everything in here. The storage complex is across and hated. We think someone from the storage complex did it.

    Sounds like millions of dollars worth of loss, or did I read that wrong? I am really really sorry... but there is no way I would have my collection in one of those lockers, and it is not worth close to that.

    The currency is collections I have. Collected over a lifetime. My advice is get insurance on you collections. The monitory value in $$ isn't the same. It was the value of a no exchanged foreign value.

    This is definitely the downside of collecting, as things of value have a tendency to disappear.

    Cameras on the the entrance. They printed three hundred in and outs on the keypad. They are looking into the exits after 10pm cause that's when it closes.

    I feel awful sad for your loss. I sure hope you can find out who stole your valuables. Can you put out any info to dealers in the area in case the thief tries to sell any of it? That might be a good idea.

    Sorry to hear that and hope you get some justice. If I had to keep something like that in storage I'd have so many booby traps set up the person trying to get to it would feel like they were in Indiana Jones and the lost ark :D

    Like I said it was to be short term like another two weeks. Was only in the unit a couple of weeks before today so really only in there a week.
