This Colorado quarter was in a roll next to it's neighbor.
It seems to be plated--as there is no clad showing on the edge.
I doubt there's a value issue but I was wondering if anyone has seen this plating before.
    Thank you.

It could have been plated (outside of the mint) but they were made in silver as well as clad. The weight would tell you what you have.

If it was silver, it would be a proof with the San Francisco (S) mintmark. NOTE: There is also a clad proof from San Fran.

Drop it onto your table, siver makes a distinctive sound. If you don't have a scale to weigh it

It could be a proof like coin. I have some Indiana state quarters that are very brilliant in comparison with any of the other coins. Dave

Ditto I've got the proofs silver & clad as well as raw of my home state & where I live now. More sentimental

How about a picture of the obverse too? That might help identification of a proof

TY for your replies. It's not a proof--just prob a "Reader's Digest type gimmicky" promo. It's in SUPER condition, so I'm still keeping it. TY!

Once a coin has been plated, it's condition is now reduced to zilch.

Of course you can! I didn't say anything about the value.
