Greek pottery comes in a thousand forms. I'd call the OP a krater of some sort but I am no pottery student. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typology_of_Greek_vase_shapes I believe the major distinctions were based on the purpose of the pot (storage, mixing, drinking etc. I'll call my Thebes stater an amphora but may be wrong. Large storage amphorae found in shipwrecks have pointed bottoms that required them to lay on their sides rather than stand upright. Does anyone have one of these on a coin?
Here's my contribution. This is my newly aquired Judaean bronze from the second year of revolt against Rome.

Hi Oki (you rock) ... Hey, is it okay if I clump my amphora and my kanthros together? (they may be different, but they seem similar-enough to be included in one sweet thread, yes?) thanks in advance , coin-bro (cheers)
