I went MS64 Zoid. It is really hard to tell what contact is on the coin and what isn't. I like the toning. You might try some lens clarifying compound, and some elbow grease.

    Arrrrgh. Lunch never happened today.

    Here's the reveal.

I was hoping the general consensus was that this coin appeared significantly better than the MS-60 it was given. I am used to seeing uncirculated, but kicked to death "asphalt bag marked" coins given an MS-60 designation.

    Sigh . . . . . . .

That’s a little surprising. I guessed 58 because it looks better than a typical 60. This era of ANACS was pretty tight on grades so if they say UNC, I’d trust that so a modern grade would probably be 62.

I voted MS 63 ....the MS 60 is surprising even if Anacs was more conservative in that era. They must have felt it was uncirculated but something was off (spots, hits, and/or luster limitations). It could also have been an error where someone keyed in the wrong number on the slab (happens now and could have back then).

The appearance and the fact it was graded at least 25 years ago was the reason I went with MS60. I agree if graded now probably a MS63 in my opinion.

What color is the hologram on the reverse?
And those scratches are in the slab right.

I'm surprised at the lower grade.....but they was stricker back in them times.....too strict. Tough issue to grade.

No hologram when this was slabbed. Red logos over black background. Maybe this will help date when it was entombed?

Trying to get better photos and a couple videos. Very tough through this plastic.

Agreed! An AU 58 is usually way better than a MS 60 even a MS 61.

I voted 62. Be interesting what it would get if cracked out and submitted again somewhere else. Value wise it's only about a $50 spread between MS 60 and 63 as I suspected so that's not really important. I don't think it could get higher than 62 without conservation perhaps.
