    The article is more about the Mason's than the Mint.

    In the past it seems they never pass up an opportunity to fire up "Ol' #1" knock out a few tokens "for the cause" and give them the CC mint mark.

    The story doesn't mention it, but I bet if you look into the event - they probably will.

    True I Have a pony express medal struck on #1 press CC Nv. It's also numbered, they only struck twice a month when they had received paid orders. Nice medal

    Fun stuff. The anniversary is based on the day the first cornerstone was laid. In 1870 they started minting Morgans.
