Okay I just have has a noticeable thing that ,I've noticed about certain years in my coin collecting . I found that from 1968 to 19 79 I am able to find San Francisco mint penny readily and circulation. now as a collector I find it is obvious that you can find San Francisco mint pennies from the sixties & seventies but it's near impossible to find any other year before 1968. Now seats except for b a freak accident that you find something from the forties and fifties or the early teens from San Francisco the value seems to have picked up on this point. I can say for the fact that you can find the San Francisco mint coinage only for cents mainly but you can't find anything else or denominations Sent from my C6740N using Tapatalk
I interestingly found a 1955-S cent from a bank roll a few years ago when I still roll searched. The grade was VF-30
http://lincolncents.net/lincoln-cent-mintages/ Reasons why one would see more "S" mint Lincolns starting from 1968: *1968-S was the first "S" mint Lincoln since 1955 *it also had over 5 times the mintage of 1955: 1955-S 44,610,000 1968-S 258,270,001 *wheat cents carry a premium so more of them have been pulled out of circulation
The position of the commentary, is to to express my love for finding San Francisco minted cents ...in any volume Sent from my C6740N using Tapatalk
He is also a talk writer.. Taptalk does that, but as I do... I write as if I am in a conversation with someone. It always looks like bad writing when you do... I was really bad 15 years ago online AOL chat rooms, etc... OMG... I use to get the same stuff that is on this page.. Please translate, HUH ? And my sPEEELING was atrocious...
S-mint cents in change are just fun, even when they're not really worth more than face value. Of course nowadays, with my middle-aged eyesight, I can't tell an S from a D, even with my readers on. Once upon a time I had vision sharp enough to read the VDB under the shoulder with my naked eyes. Those days are gone. So I probably miss a lot of stuff in my pocket change.
Hi there, I've come across this 1968 cent could it be rare ? Curious as I've never seen a cent this dark, pics lighten as its dark brown. Thanks!
It is probably just a common cent that has been circulated and still worth 1 cent. If you have a picture, start a new thread and we'll be better able to help you.
