looks like the D mint mark is over a ball serif S mint mark? fist picture is just what i compared the anomaly too. BALL_SERIF_MMS-006-127x114.jpg 20160909_092806.jpg 20160909_101746.jpg 20160909_092806.jpg

As far as I know, the best way to tell a 1944 D/S over punch is to check for the top of the "S" above the "D". It may be faint but it's difficult to tell from your pictures. The middle photo comes the closest to a yes but then, if you want to see it, it's always there because you have convinced yourself it is what you want it to be even though it's not.

Maybe if you could get some more defining light at the top of the D.
Or, is what you are referring to only the area in the D?

I see it, I was wondering if there was a horn on the D. looks like a large S, it doesn't really match with OMM-002 or FS-12

I'm not seeing the S. (That doesn't mean there isn't one.) But I think if it is an RPM then it is D over D.

For all I know, I have found that pics can give you an impression of something that's not there.

If It is raised. I would send it to a specialist.

There are three different omm's . The# 1 shows an s over the d, # 2 shows the top of the s above the d and a curved line inside, and I have also seen one with an s northeast of the d.

By the way, I want to say hello to every one out there. I've been following you all for awhile. Best info seems to come from this site, thanks
