Nothing wrong with that, "haters gonna hate". (lol)

The SLQ design and actually the entire set they're releasing are some of my personal favorites. Maybe they didn't do a great job with them? I'm not that nuanced a collector yet so I'm very happy with them and looking forward to the third as well.

Agree absolutely. The only problem is most countries want even higher premiums over melt for them than the U.S. does.

Kinda the old saying you get what you pay for. Some really do seem to be excessive premiums but with some of the designs they are still very tempting.

The Walker COULD get my attention, but then I keep thinking about the "real" Walkers I could add to my set with the 900ish money they're going to want.

I'm drawing the line at ISIS gold. "Not ganna duit, wouldn't be prooodent at this juncture."

Your a good guy Kurt, why whiz on someone else's leg. Quasi-fetish? Picture standing at urinal trough and pissin on the leg of guy next to you. Instead of blaming a problem prostrate, you tell him flat out you did it on purpose.
You went from "flipper" distaste on this mint issue to putting down any purchaser of this coin by the looks of things.
No, I did not buy any and have no interest in it. But I will not fault anyone who wanted it for their personnel collection.

It's not just that. I do consider gold a "mind influencing chemical" almost as directly as cocaine or THC is. People do weird junk for gold. Gold almost drips with politics, bad evil politics, IMO. That's part of my distaste for it too. I'd be happier if Jerry Ford had never rescinded the bullion ban in 1974.

Kurt, do you like Morgans and Peace dollars? I love collecting them.

I like Morgans up to a point. I have more than I want now. The Peace dollars frustrate me to no end. So much quality early, an embarrassment of riches. So much horrible looking junk late. The care taken by the mint toward the end of the series was apparently bad. The history of the Peace dollar is mostly about the Pittman Act, a nice interesting scandalous story.

In case anyone is curious about my admitted quasi-fetish, it's classic commem halves with an intriguing story about the history of their creation and/or distribution.

I feel they grade the peace dollars kinda goofy. Besides the 35 S. Most of the later dates are average at best, quality wise.

Oh, don't look for me to soften on flippers. To me, flippers are scum. They are the same thing as ticket scalpers, which used to be, and still should be, illegal.

The 1901 Morgan was a big victim of the Pittman Act, if I'm not mistaking?

Now were pissin on the guy on the other side of you at the trough. That darn prostrate again.
I don't have the best opinion of the practice but scum is harsh. Most would say the same about politicians.

And they mostly would not be wrong, either.

All of the later dates were up to 1904, perhaps especially the '01. The carnage was amazing. Even more amazing is there were still the bags of the 1970's around.

But not fiat? Jeez... Coin collecting draws a lot of pedantic chitchat but you really believe you're above it all. The arrogance is just breathtaking. Wow!

Yup, I believe, and my degree is in economics, that "fiat" currency is the ONLY currency that makes economic sense. "Hard" money is as close as anything in economics ever gets to being purely evil.

Any sovereign government can, should, and must have full control of its money supply and interest rates at all times.

This is why the euro must inevitably fail.

A bit pretentious, isn't it? Especially when you haven't a clue who your "audience" is.
