I've never been charged a fee... I could understand a bank charging whatever it costs them to get the box to cover themselves. But 5-20 dollars is ridiculous

They don't expect to get the fee, they just don't want to order you boxes.

That's right. At some of the Wells Fargos they give me crap about Regional Managers not wanting boxes going out to non-business customers. They're just tired of doing it. Other branches don't mind providing me the boxes at all and actually encourage me.

I only bought boxes from larger Bank of America branches that have lots of retail business customers. This means they usually have lots of rolled coin on hand. I also carry my BoA zipper deposit bag with me and buy the coin in cash. No one ever asked questions or hinted there might be a fee. Many of the casinos also get their coin from the same places as the bank branches so halves are not difficult to order. The main vault centers have to stock them from their gaming customers.

One Silver dime from Teller tray. I am not skunked for silver this month. I will take my $1.42 worth of silver and run.

Sounds like you have some stupid bean counters at some of the branches. At least you have good branches which encourage you. All three of my Wells Fargo branches encourage me and my hobby.

I've never been charged a fee for boxes, been told they are "supposed" to charge 5% etc, but seemingly they miss charging me the fee. Hmm, must be the candy.:hungry:

One supermarket branch wanted to charge me a fee for swapping a box of Cents. I stopped going there. They didn't want my business. Clearly.

I found likely the ugliest 1947-S dime on the planet today along with a 45-S War. 47sdime45snickel.jpg

First box of halves in 6 months found 1 1966 as far a silver goes. Also found 34 different BU dates and 22 proofs 11 different dates. Pretty cool box even if the silver was scarce. I've been working on nickel sets from circulation but after today I'm starting a Kennedy Half BU set from circulation. It may take a while but I got a good start today.

Are you going to try and get the Silver Proofs from 1992 on?

I foynd a really nice 1958 nickel! I'm not sure how to grade it, but the steps are still mostly visible on the reverse.

Only if I find them in rolls when searching. I have two sets of '64 - '70D with proofs and SMS that I had bought and put together, just never cared about the clads until today.

That's cool. I've been thinking about the set too. I bought a 70D for $10 a month ago. For $9 each I got the 2004 and 2005 S Silver proofs. I went to a coin show and looked at prices for the other S Silver Proofs and they run between $14-$20 each. Those and the Gold one are making me stall on making the set. It would be a cool one to have though. After going through boxes and boxes of halves CRH those coins grow on you.
