I found this 1969 Jefferson nickel with a clipped edge. Is this a pmd coin or mint damaged coin? The edge is smooth. My guess, man made.
I think it could be a mint error due to what looks like a bit of Blakesley Effect on the obverse. Can you show a photo of the edge at clip?
The proper terminology is Incomplete Planchet. Nothing at any time was ever "clipped" on any Incomplete Planchet. What occurs is that the Blank Planchet was cut out of the Nickel stock sheet bit to close to the previous cut Planchet. This occurs when the stock sheet doesn't move forward probably for some reason. Shown in grey are the different incomplete planchet issues that can occur. They are called clips because they look like they were clipped. A lot to take in but it's the facts
