What's the deal with NCG holders? I've seen some people confuse them as NGC knock-offs but I know they are just a cheap cheap grading company with almost no standards.

Does anyone know the story behind them? Location, owners, etc???

What "deal" are we referring to, exactly. I love the NGC holder of today. I'm not as fond of some earlier ones. NGC is the official third-party grader of both the American Numismatic Association AND the Professional Numismatists' Guild, and their rates are only a SLIGHT bit below the so-called and self-called "industry leader", of whom I have as low an opinion as you do of NGC apparently. I see you wrote NCG once, but I know of no grader like NCG. Only NGC.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

That is exactly DV's point: NCG is a knockoff service with an intentionally misleading name and a cheap holder, who preys on people who just quickly glance at it and think "it must be a typo, because who's NCG?"

NCG. I repeat, NCG, not NGC.

Oh boy, here we go again. Are they a unique slab? Or is some dude just using CW self-slabs?

It's an actual company. I don't know where they are based out of though. There are tons of the NCG slabs on eBay though.

How many unique sellers? If only a small number, that could be useful in tracking the source.

To late someone already did. There are also a couple that combine the PCGS and NGC letters if I remember correctly

If you can get me slabs with TrueView in less than 60 days, you have a customer for life. :wacky:

I'd laser etch your coin image into the slab for free. As a piece of mind for you the customer, I'll hold onto your coins and keep them in my vault and even sell them for you through my network of certified buyers.

I know a guy who is an expert in expert stuff. If you have a question about my business plan I'll give him a call. Go ahead and give me a beep on my beeper. You are my most important customers.

Ever heard of laserfische? Ya, its Top Secret G15 classified. Hillary Clinton kills people for knowing less than that type stuff. We will laserfische your info onto floppy disks for you. Who needs true view crap when you can have MS DOS hardware disks??

I need to get on the ball and get the name for my grading service registered. The name? PGGS, you know the Penny Guy Grading Service. LOL

Who needs photos? PGCS will hire poets to describe in nauseating detail every nuance of the appearance of your coin, complete with fully original colour names (note the ostentatious "u"), the poetry of which will put the most excessive Heritage catalog descriptions to shame. :bag:

NCG is/was out of Fountain Hills, Az. Not to be confused with NGC.

NCG appeared on the TV coin shows for a bit, but I haven't seen them lately. Obviously misleading intent was involved.
