Anybody else notice the influx of the error help questions by seemingly female persona. No offense to the ladies that are truly are here for help but it seems like there is some sort of trend going on. I wonder if there was someone who didnt like what was said to them or someone who is trying to get one over on the chat by posting multiple persona's to see whether or not the backroom experiment went well. I hate to say it but im a sucker when it comes to helping women and i'm sure others are as well. I wonder if someone is playing on the male ego to help. To the Mod's and anyone that may know a thing or two about forums Is there a way to limit a ISP to just a couple moniker per ISP? I dont know I have never owned or managed a forum.
Interesting hypothesis. I'll admit that I've wanted to do the same a couple of times on more ...toxic... forums (not this one obviously!) I wouldn't put anything pass the trolls. It seems that one of the most-trolled sub-forums here on CT is the error coin forum. I honestly feel bad for the folks who live there...
Are you implying that women are more devious and underhanded than their male counterparts? Or, are you implying that that is the perception of most men? Well! Of all things! I never!!!!!!! Anonymous
It's a universe thingy. All things must trend towards what they are not in order to keep things balanced. Thusly, geeks must become Sultans of Cool. Obviously, our coolness has now come to the attention of the women who for some reason seem to always be 34 years old.
It does seem like a lot of gals have been joining. I think it's cool. They seem to be looking for answers and don't get all ticked off about bad news. I'm sure Doug can see IPs but only starts checking them when someone is causing trouble.
I will say, in almost ten years on the Admin team of another forum, I don't think we had as many as three new female members the whole time who wished to post their own faces as avatars.
Huh. I just went off to check the list of newest members, and discovered that there's no such thing, at least not on the version of the "Members" section I see.
